I’m an Ex-Pat Brit living in Los Angeles. Before I moved to the U.S. in 2005, I spent over 20 years practicing my trade as a Travel Agent in and around London and Hertfordshire. During that time I handled many different types of Travel and Travelers including incoming specialist Groups to the U.K. from the U.S. I also planned and undertook many day trips and extended tours for groups within the U.K as well as helping hundreds of families and individuals to plan their U.K Vacations. I have achieved certifications from, among others, the Government Tourist Organizations of Britain, Scotland, England, Ireland and London. British Rail, Rail Europe and British Airways.
At the same time I taught vocational travel and tourism courses at college level, travel related skills in the corporate environment and have given talks and training on travel and the travel industry to corporate clients. I produced and and presented shows on a local radio station and I also have spent time escorting tour groups and driving local transit buses.
Some of my past (UK) clients have included Tesco Stores, Conde Nast, The Independent Newspaper, HSBC Bank, Bechtel, University of Hertfordshire and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
I have dreams of making a living as a freelance writer, but apparently you need to write to be able to do that, something i don’t seem to have the time to do what with work, kids, football (soccer) and being lazy.
Since Arriving on American shores I have continued to work as a travel agent helping groups, individuals and families in planning their Vacations to Britain. I’m available to write, speak and train in areas such as Travel, The Travel Industry, Britain, Technology in Travel and the internet. I now want to encourage as many people as possible to travel to my ‘home’ by writing about the benefits and opportunities available.
Some of my other interests are included in the list on my personal blog
I am married to my ‘Californian Girl’ and we have two (Dual Nationality) young sons.
